Anthem Blue Cross (California) Breach Settlement: Anthem Blue Cross agrees to pay pay $150,000 to the State of California to settle matters related to a breach of patient data.  It seems that Anthem printed social security numbers on letters to beneficiaries of its Medicare Supplement and Medicare Part D plans.  Apparently, the social security numbers could be seen through the window in the envelope.  About 34,000 beneficiaries were involved.  California law severely restricts the use of social security numbers by businesses.
