Off-Topic: Accretive Update: The
latest story is that Accretive staff told a new mother that if she didn't pay, she couldn't take her baby home. Accretive denies the allegations.
Sounds like a car repair shop, which can do such a thing as keep your car if you don't pay for the repairs. Why? Shouldn't the car repair shop be required to make the repairs regardless of whether I pay? Even if I can pay?
And why is this "off-topic"? Because, while it may be a Fair Debt Collection Practice violation, or a consumer fraud violation,
it's not a HIPAA violation.
