University of Miami Data Theft: Seems some computer files were stolen from a van belonging to the University of Miami's storage company. However, the data was stored using a proprietary program that basically serves to encrypt the information, so the University feels comfortable that nobody's information is at risk. However, they're going to notify the 47,000 patients potentially involved.

Seems like an awful lot of information to be stored in a parked car. I received my letter from the U of M today. I might be inclined to disagree with the date of the theft as well. Re: my credit Card fraud: GOOGLE *IDentisource google.com/ch CA Transaction Date 03/10/2008. While I don't use this card often, it is the one I used to pay them for my hospital bill.
