Privacy Audits: In case you haven't heard, CMS apparently liked its audit of Piedmont Hospital so much that it's hired PriceWaterhouse Coopers to help it conduct a whole lot more audits. Actually, the Piedmont audit was by OIG; CMS' "Office of E-Health Standards" is going to be doing the PWC tag-team deal.

Either way, now might be a good time to blow the dust off your Security Policies, do some more risk analysis to beef up the file (remember, always document this stuff, even if your review doesn't lead to any changes), and put yourself in a good position in case the men in black show up.

Couldn't hurt, and you might find some breach in a firewall that needs patching.
