Boston again: This time, it's
Brigham and Women's Hospital. Seems they've got a bad fax number in their system, and they've been faxing some pretty embarrasing PHI on women who had just given birth to an investment bank. The bank apparently notified the hospital several time that they were faxing the information to the wrong place, and to stop it, but the hospital never fixed the problem.
Verify your fax numbers if you're faxing PHI. Occasionally re-verify them. And for Pete's sake, if someone calls and tells you that you've sent PHI to the wrong fax,
fix the problem. Sheesh.
