Happy Holidays, y'all!
Hope you all had a Merry Christmas (or whatever you celebrate this time of year) and will have a safe and happy new year. Here's a
story from the Christmas edition of USA Today on how confusing the HIPAA privacy regulations are (as if you didn't know that already). I always wanted to be in the army, and now I am (the army of lawyers and consultants, but an army nonetheless).
And I promise, more posting in the new year.
UPDATE (hey, that's not something I do very often, is it?): Tommy Thompson responded in the same issue of USA Today that the regulations are clear as a bell. Sure, Tommy. As HIPAAcrat John Cody noted, if HHS really published easy-to-understand regulations and offered "clear guidance" on HIPAA, how come 1.5 million people had to come look for guidance?
