HIT in Texas: Just so you'll know that we're not behind the curve here in Texas, here's a recent article from the Austin Business Journal (free registration may be required) on the formation of the Texas Health Information Technology Advisory Council.

The article didn't require registration, but was an interesting read. I'm of the opinion that any sort of nationally integrated Medical Record won't be possible. Not because of privacy, but because of how to fund and manage such a central database.

I did find one part of the article funny when it blamed the lack of IT in HealthCare on rural areas. I'd like to see proof of that.
