UCLA Privacy Breaches: someone commented earlier on the post about Britney, and how the doctors weren't punished as harshly as the staff. My suspicion was that the doctors aren't employees, so the hospital doesn't have the ability to punish them as much (for example, the hospital can't revoke their medical staff privileges without giving them a fair hearing). But the LA Times has picked up on the discrepancy between the punishments for staff and doctors. Nobody at UCLA has offered the same explanation I proferred, so I might be wrong about the employment status.
