Open Source Software in healthcare: Now, here's a topic I know nothing about and won't even pretend that I do. However, I did get an email from the conference chairman of the Southern California Linux Expo (SCaLE):

I would like to bring to your attention the 2007 Open Source Health Care Summit's Call For Papers. This summit is a 1 day event that will be held at the Southern California Linux Expo in Feb 2007.

Would you or any of your colleagues at be interested presenting at this event?

The Southern California Linux Expo (SCALE) has announced plans to host an Open Source Health Care summit as part of our upcoming 2007 conference, SCALE 5x. The focus of this event will be on the use of open-source software in the health care industry. The goal of this event is to foster an awareness of the availability of open-source options to medical organizations, private practices, and hospitals. The Open-Source Health Care Summit will be held on February 9, 2007 at the Los Angeles Airport Westin Hotel. SCALE 5x will then be held on Feb 10-11.

The call for papers for this event is open through December 29th and can be found online here. And feel free to email me if you're interested in presenting and I'll try to put you in touch with the right people.
