Company-sponsored EHRs: Five very large companies, including Wal-Mart, are spending lots of money to develop electronic health records for their employees. We're talking 2.5 million employees and their dependents. That's a lot of folks. The EHRs would be portable to a new company or new doctor.

Of course, I'm sure somebody's gonna cry about the evils Wal-Mart could do with the health information of its employees. Wherever Wal-Mart is involved, you hear that sort of paranoia.
