Data Storage Space. Here's an interesting article in HealthLeaders on how much space digitally-stored records take up. Naturally, PACS is the biggest space hog, but all types of clinical apps take up more space than you think. Storage is always getting cheaper, but the amount to be stored keeps getting larger, and EMRs will just accelerate that trend. Even if you're not using EMRs, you still need to keep an eye on your storage needs and available space -- it can be a disaster if you find yourself without necessary storage space.
