The Connected Patient:
Will patient expectations be the ultimate driver to forcing increased electronic access to healthcare information, at least the consumer-oriented kind (appointment times, test results, etc.)? The general public now books flights, buys movie tickets, shops, pays bills, and communicates with everyone else online; won't they begin to expect their healthcare providers to be as techno-available? According to this HealthLeaders article
, the "connected patient" may be the market-shifter.
