Survey says: The California HealthCare Foundation has a new
privacy study up. People like healthcare information technology, but are concerned that their own health information might be used against them, particularly by their employer. I would attribute the first attitude to the normal American posture of embracing technology. We are a confident and optimistic people who love and respect science, and generally think that advances in technology are good for us. The second attitude reflects a reaction to the press and public policy organizations who push a frightful vision of evil anthropomorphic corporations out to do you harm and steal from you whatever they can get their greedy little hands on.
Anyway, it's interesting. Hat tip (for this and the preceding note) to Alan Goldberg.
