Nice Pants. Or not.
Mostly off topic, but I thought I'd point out that I spent Monday in Houston playing in the fundraising tournament for Texas Children's Hospital. The tournament is known as the "
Bad Pants Open," (which I just realized is even more punny than I thought), and one of the major sponsors is an old-line Houston clothier called
Harold's (in the Heights). Harold's gives a couple of gift certificates to the golfer and foursome with the worst pants. I suspect the 2004 photos will be up soon, but in the meantime, check out the 2003 photos to see some of the sartorial disasters. It's like watching a train wreck in slow motion: it's not pretty, but you can't seem to look away.
Despite the efforts shown below, neither Lance Lightfoot (Staff Counsel, Texas Children's Hospital), Barron Bogatto (partner in Jackson Walker's Houston office), nor Paul Herndon (CFO, Texas Children's Pediatric Associates) was even in the competition. That's just how bad it was. I, as you can tell, thought the name of the tournament was just a joke.
