Contracting for help with HIPAA Security compliance:  Here's an article on a small IT startup focusing on helping small group practices address HIPAA Security Rule issues.  MedITc is the company, and they focus on small group practices by looking at their existing computer systems and designing HIPAA Security solutions that use as much of the assets in place to obtain compliance.  Not a bad idea, and I suspect there are some other companies out there doing the same thing.

Remember, HIPAA Security compliance is required by next April.   By that time, you should have already done your risk assessment and have in place the protections and procedures needed.  You should have already started; if you haven't, you'd better get started.  Soon.
