. As reported below, the employer ID portion of the transaction and code sets standards is the tax identification number of the employer. However, that number usually starts with two digits, then a hyphen, then 7 more digits. WEDI (the Workinggroup for Electronic Data Interchange) wants the hyphen dropped. Who could blame them?
