Sorry for the long delay: I've (i) changed computers, (ii) turned 40 and went on a birthday trip, and (iii) been on the traveling HIPAA roadshow. But I'll post later today on the issue of whether you ought to get HIPAA consents, even if the proposed revisions (eliminating the consent requirement so long as you give a copy of your notice of privacy practices and try to get a signed acknowledgment of receipt) pass and consents aren't required. My inclination is that you should; you'll get the full argument soon.
